Motorbike Cdi Testing

Little question about ignition system on a fourwheeler motorbike?

I’ve been working on this single cylinder quad bike, I could not get it to spark. I tested the cdi unit with a multimeter against a chart of resistance values from a workshop manual that the unit should read between each terminal. It tested to be rooted. So we bought another second hand one, still no spark, I ripped apart the wiring, started it again from scratch, and got a spark! You beaut! Though, it was a weak spark and yesterday, it konked out all together. I rechecked all the wiring, plugs etc, tested for power and continuity, tested the new CDI, and all the values are within spec (with a few a couple of ohms over, which I don’t think should matter)… My question is, because all the values are in spec (or very close to), does this rule out the CDI unit? I’m thinking it’s the ignition coil.

Cheers

Ignition coil, leads, plug or earth connection I would go for.
